Mane has had a great season thus far. He finished second to Mohamed Salah for the CAF Player of the Year. He then guided Liverpool to their sixth UEFA Champions League title, their first since 2005.
For three years in a row, Onyango has been one of the best goalkeepers in the continent, and was named in CAF team of the year in 2016, 2017 and 2018. He won the South African league with Mamelodi Sundowns the past season.
Tau had a good season with Belgian side Union SG on loan from English side Brighton and Hove Albion. He was named player of the season after helping his side to a historical semis finish in in the Belgian Cup, and also second place in the second-tier league.
Mahrez bagged his second English Premier League title in four years, winning the coveted title last season with Manchester City, who completed a treble of domestic titles.
Salah retained his crown as Africa's best player. He made history becoming the first Egyptian to win UEFA Champions League with Liverpool. He also finished Premier League as joint top scorer.
