I dedicate this award to Nigeriens – Niger U23 captain Darankoum

Niger U23 captain Abdul Moumouni Amadou Darankoum has dedicated his TotalEnergies Man of the Match award to the people of his country after clinching the gong on Wednesday.
Darankoum was named the winner of the award at the on-going TotalEnergies CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 following their match against Gabon.
The midfielder, who was instrumental as Niger defeated Gabon 1-0 in a Group B match played in Tangier was voted TotalEnergies Man of the Match.
"I dedicate this Award to all Nigeriens," said a happy Darankoum who added that it’s always a happy moment to be voted the best player on the pitch.
He said facing Ganon was not easy because they were also determined to fight back and win after losing their opening match.
"We played as a team and now we must work hard for the last match against Mali because we know it is important, " added the skipper.
